Ingredients:
- 2 cups uncooked macaroni
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1/2 tsp seasoned salt
- Pinch of red chili powder flakes
- 1/2 tsp celery seed
- 1 can diced tomatoes (28 ounce)
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Cook the pasta according to directions, drain, and set aside
- Reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta cooking water
- Add the olive oil to a large skillet and put on medium-high heat
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and brown
- When the beef is almost done, drain the fat and add the chopped onion
- Cook for another 4-5 minutes, or until the onion is soft
- Add the celery seed, pinch of red pepper flakes, and seasoned salt and mix well.
- Add the chopped tomatoes and Worcestershire sauce and stir to combine, then simmer for 5 minutes
- Mix in the pasta and parsley and cook for another 5 minutes
- If the dish is too dry, add some or all of the pasta water
- Season to taste with freshly ground pepper and salt
Notes:
You can make this with ground beef or ground turkey.
